The simplest and the most important line you need to know
Bathroom kahan hai? (बाथरूम कहाँ है?) → “Where is the bathroom?”
Someone will hopefully point you in the right direction. Pro-tip – rehearse the basic directions so you don’t need to worry about them in your moment of panic.
More polite version
Like any question in India, addressing people the right way is important.
- Bhaiya (brother) / Didi (sister) for someone of a similar or smaller age than you (you will need to guess this.)
- Uncle / Aunty for people elder than you
So, you can say –
Didi, Bathroom kahaan hai?
Often times, you can also replace Bathroom with Toilet or Washroom. You can say –
Bhaiya, Toilet kahaan hai?
OR
